Kadlekai parshe (Groundnut Festival) at Bull Temple Bangalore

It happens every year, the groundnut festival.I have never seen so many groundnuts in my life before.Bangalore Ascenders had a casual meet,to check out the groundnut festival this year. All the photo enthusiasts of Bangalore were here.So many open stalls.Food, pottery, artificial flowers, jewellery, gaint wheels ,merry go round and of course groundnuts :) This festival is connected to the Bull temple in Basavangudi,Bangalore. A small story narrated  by my friend Roopa about this festival. In olden days, when the groundnuts are ready to be harvested, the bulls would eat and destroy the farmers crops,so they decided that once a year, they would offer it to the bull at bull temple,so since then festival continues..So I guess the bulls and the farmers got their share of  groundnuts. :)
Everyone just having fun. Musical instruments, horns, scary masks, coloured wigs and what not. :D and to top it off just when we were about to leave it starts to rain. Rain and crowd!!! My god!!! all of us trying to seek shelter from rain, ran to the nearby hotels. Another daunting task is to try and keep the camera safe from rain. One's gotta be ready for everything :D All in all an evening well spent :) Felt like a  tourist in my own city :P
