Conquered Bangalore roads

A walk from south Bangalore to north Bangalore. It was more than I had expected, but definitely worth it at the end of it.Two dreams came true that day,one a very long and pending dream.
From where do dreams originate I wonder sometimes, bringing us closer to ourselves every time.Till you accomplish it,it's always at the back of your head and once it's done, then sense of satisfaction takes over and your left thinking what do I do next? or probably you already have another dream waiting to be addressed by you.Somehow this dream to walk from home to Iskcon took root in my mind. I've walked for 12 kms max inside the city. And the route I had decided on was around 18-20 kms,so had the confidence I could do it,but wasn't sure of how long it would take.
I would call this as my Monday Morning Adventure.Left around 9:45 am from home.On the way bought lot of chocolates in the name of energy boosters when I require them, but ended up munching many along the way :P Previously I had walked till adugodi,so walk till adugodi junction was familiar. Then the new path kick started, mentally trying to trace the route till Majestic Bus stop.Took my first break at a bus stop near Langford road. Then walked through the quiet street near Langford road, heading towards Baldwins Girls' High School. That when I realized that I always wanted to walk from home to school and or vice versa. Sometimes wished that my van driver would just leave be behind in school so that I could walk back home. There were time that happened but then I guess I forgot about it in the panic that the van had indeed left and that our sweet van driver Shiva uncle had made other arrangements to get us girls safely back home.
Now that I was walking down the road, all the memories of my wonderful school life was re-creating itself in front of my eyes, only that now I can see everything that's happening.

Walk towards Kanteerva stadium was high spirited as it reminded me of all the athletes who would practice in the morning when I would go for some rocking climbing classes. Then moving on towards Husdon circle,on the way towards Majestic, took a small water break and sat for about 2 minutes. But my throat still felt dry,the moment I saw adigas, walked straight in ordered a sweet & salt lime juice, which gave me a really big boost for the challenging part of this journey. Finally reached the famous Kempegowda circle, passed the railway station and now I was entering the Rajajinagar zone.

When I reached this mall in the above pic,I realized I had walked quiet a lot and convinced myself that now there was only just little more to go.From here I took a right, that when I came across a traffic cop and just decided to ask him for directions, luckily I happened to be on the right track. When I asked him,he told end of this road you'll find a flyover and then take a left.He had a slight feeling I was planning to go walking till there and had warned me there's quiet a lot to go and suggested me to catch a bus.I pretended like I would catch an auto, thanked him and kept walking.
Little did I know this dead end would end up looking like an endless highway to me,where If I was on my bike, the feeling of I would run out of fuel.Walking down this almost endless road made me wonder where exactly in rajajinagar was I. It ended up been Dr. Rajkumar road. That took me by surprise, that I would be passing Orion mall.Even on my bike I felt that mall was too far. Then I recollected that I had indeed seen Iskcon from this mall and was happy for that. Thanks to this endless straight road I had my doubts whether I was really heading to my destination. That's when I frantically kept thinking which side of the mall did I seen the ISKCON temple.Saw my first flyover, somehow it didn't look like the dead end.The blessed road still continued, confirmed about the route to the temple and kept heading straight.
By this time, every step I took felt like a drag.Even a good sports shoe was turning out to be uncomfortable.I hadn't rested even for a sec and my lime juice treat. Not that I didn't wanted to ,but just never found a place to sit and relax.I didn't wanted to look at my watch for the fear of not reaching the temple on time and my mind trying to persuade me in catching an auto and make it for the darshan. But then that suggestion was put down, because it would be like pouring water on all the hard work till now.
At last found a bus stop,my saviour to my legs, now didn't care whether i was late or not.Reconfirmed the direction to the temple.
Finally Orion mall,it shouldn't be far from here I thought, but still there was no sign of the temple.

Finally saw the fly over that the traffic cop was talking about, headed left then I saw the sign saying ISKCON. Boy! was I relieved :D :) Happy that I made it.It was 2 pm when I reached the temple.Took me 4 hrs to reach the temple. The entrance to the temple was closed. The watchman didn't budge to let me in.When I saw the temple,it was as if all the pain had gone away :) Stood there just trying some how to enter, probably sit in the temple premises for some time and then head back.Tried the puppy dog face with the watchman, that also didn't work.So just took some pics and headed home.Walked towards the bus stop, caught a bus to majestic and then headed back home. While travelling in the bus, seeing the route I had just walked few mins back was a good feeling.Something lost, something gained.I guess that how's it's meant to be. :)
