When you get an opportunity, you just have to grab it.Holidays are precious :) especially when your friends are also free to join in for your plans.Saturday night around 11:30 had a talk with my friend Jahnavi(Janu) to head to a temple outskirts of Bangalore. On Bannargatta Road, very close to the zoo,Champakdhama Temple & Narashimha Swamy Temple.Did my usual research on google. Had a fair idea and then left the rest to chance.
We were supposed to leave latest by 10am but started only by 11 am and best part my fren had to return home early too.Convinced her, don't worry we'll be back soon.He he he :P Honestly speaking,I wasn't completely sure how long it would take to reach, because at that time I didn't expect it to be close.
The Magnificent Temple Entrance !!!

The Magnificent Temple Entrance !!!
Entrance to lord Balaji temple. After the darshan had yummy Prasad under a tree. Then we head to the second temple up the hill. There's a fleet of stairs to the back of this temple leading to Lord Narhimha Temple.
The view from top...
Did a quick Darshan at the second temple. I had also read about a pond and a temple in the interiors around 2 km from here.A lot of people were heading towards that place no sign board or anything, just follow the crowd. When we asked a lady she said there's a lot to walk and my fren wanted to back out from this plan because she had to get home.I wasn't sure when would we actually visit this place again, some how convinced her to give it a try and we could be back on time.Almost every one day trips of mine ends up being a race against time. All thanks to all my frens and all mighty god, for all the wonderful moments even though it is very little time of our lives.
The group of small structures you can see in this last pic are few of the temples in that place. The man made water hole (Kalyani) is believed to have healing powers, but seeing the water in the kalyani we decided not to wash our legs. There's a small Hanuman temple on the steps on this kalyani. There is also a Shiva and Devi temple. All we wanted was to see this place and head back quickly.
On the way back my slipper tore, that was the last thing I wanted to happen. The ground was so hot,it was like walking on charcoal when we had to walk around the temple and the path was full of rocks and sand and very little shade. Jahnavi my friend decided we would take chances wearing hear sandals. After I reluctantly agreed, she just refused to take turns and kept walking as though it was a child's play.Hats off to you sweetie :) and thanks a ton for the kindest gesture.Believe me it was beyond hot,I still can't believe she did it.wow!!! :) And to add to it,she was walking at a super fast pace.I am not new to walking but the pace she walked with,at a point I lost track of her and I was worried if she had taken another way or so.Only one suggestion please wear really good shoes or floaters.Fancy sandals are an absolute No No.
Sitting on the bike and riding back to Bangalore felt like heaven :).Even though my friend was slightly late, she managed to head out to her second destination.A hot and super sunny ride! Another experience :)
