When your 80 and you look back on life gone by,you wanna say,"oh yeah! I did it :) and Thank God for it :)" Don't get me wrong,it's not about trying anything and everything just because others are doing it,but it's about doing all the things you've dreamt off.
Saturday and Sunday sitting at home was a complete No-No.It was a instant plan, thought of going for a short ride and then going for a movie. But we started late and the destination we chose was not that close to come back and sit for a movie. The Destination was set,DevarayanaDurga (DD) Hills :) I wanted to go there because I wanted to go up a hill and ride the twisty roads,so called twisties :P and go further than I had previously traveled on my bike.DD are around 65kms from Bangalore.
My good pals Praveen CJ and Rahul agreed for the ride,CJ on his Thunder bird 350,rahul his pillion and me on my Activa,Black beauty.Met up near Cubbon park at around 11:50 am.the day turned out to be super sunny, although not that hot.Head to Yeswanthpur, one straight road from Bangalore to nelamangala toll gate. From there we need to reach Dobaspet. The ride through the village was good, just here and there we witnessed bad roads.
I just stopped to take a pic of the field and we needed up taking a break in that hot sun :P The climb up the hill was good,if only the roads were as good as you can see in the above pic.The road up the hill is narrow and there was no space to stop and take a pic, because it was a Sunday and the frequent passing of the vehicles up and down the hill.
Once you get to the top, there's a fleet of stairs that lead to the temple.
We decided to skip the temple visit this time because we were all sweaty and it was 1:30 in the afternoon. There a small temple pond right in front of the temple.

Temple pond |
There's a trail along the pond that leads to the top of the hill, not much shade up there and the route up is between the bushes and the rock.We ended up trekking up the hill barefoot,as beyond a certain point footwear were not allowed.

The view of the temple from top |

Really sunny on top |

The view down |
We still hadn't reached the topmost part of this hill, after spending some time here,we saw only one way to go on top and it really didn't look like a way.
Yes,sure there seem to be a trial, but when we reached the boulders,we were almost about to turn back and then my fren CJ who was leading the way said we could go up,the route looked a little scary, but when I heard sounds of people from top,I felt relieved.

Finally on top

Now this is the highest point, there's a solar panel and a lighting conductor installed. Finally we found some shade. This place was really good.Cool wind blowing, one could sleep there peacefully :)

Finally the whole temple in view :) |

Tiring to capture a far away lake. |
Stayed on top for some time and then left to the entry to the temple.Going down the stairs of the temple was a marathon in itself because the stone steps were hot! Once we got down,we got super hungry,no resturants, just small shops which sold juices, biscuits, hot bhajis and bhel puri :) Even after filling our stomachs,we could feel our knees shaking when we were preparing to ride back to Bangalore.Just sat on the bike and took off. Didn't know how time went by,straight smooth highways, getting back was even better because when we reached Bangalore took all the flyover, therefore it was completely straight road once we exited the village of Dabaspet. The setting sun on my right gave a nice feeling to the ride. The winds were were strong and my bike felt like a mere feather in it's path.Rode at a comfortable pace nonstop, cruising along the highway. While I was riding, just felt I could travel anywhere I wanted on my Activa. :)
That was a wonderful thought this trip had gifted me with, which I carry it everyday in my heart.Only to inspire myself to capture many more sunsets from different destinations :)
