All that was on my mind was to have dosa from Vidyathri Bhavan on a Sunday morning.Heard a lot of it and never been there before. Was expecting a reply,"Sunday morning want to sleep Shru" from my friend Jahnavi, but the reply took me by surprise and thats it,no turning back from there :P "Shru, why don't we go walking to Vidyathri Bhavan."and all I could reply was Awesome :) Quickly looked through the map for direction,it turned out to be a six km walk from forum mall Bangalore.Even though it was a small walk both of us were just so excited about it.It had rained on Saturday,so was expecting the weather to be cloudy the next morning.Lack of sleep due to the excitement, but even then, the energy the next morning was all time high.Woke up by six and was supposed to be at my friend's place by 6:45.Still 6:30,no reply to msgs or calls from my fren :P Thats ok,because I thought will go to her place and wake her up. :P :) but then she called back on time and was ready for the walk.
Rain greeted us on Sunday morning.Bangalore looked so beautiful to walk in the early morning rain.We couldn't miss it for anything. Now eating just turned out to be a reason.I was prepared as if I was going on a trek, with chocolates and juice for the walk.Umbrella, jacket and a good pair of shoes. We had all the time to talk about the stories we had missed on :P When we were crossing forum,Janu just gave out a softened scream, not knowing for what and that I couldn't find anything in front of me,my mind was scared that something alive and creepy was well camouflaged, later only to know it was for a dead rat :D And we did encounter quite a few dead rats on the way.
Even though there's a well laid footpath near Lalbhagh,we still avoided it,because of dog poops and some places human waste. That when I noticed a street sweeper cleaning the streets and footpath of Bangalore and hats of to them and their job,for trying to keeping Bangalore clean. They are such valuable people in our day to day life,so that we can walk on the cleaner side of Bangalore or as a matter of fact anywhere else in the world.
From Asoka pillar its 15-20 kms walk to reach Gandhi Bazaar.Since the flower shops had covered the entrance to the restaurant we walked passed it and we asked for directions and reached the place.Looking at the crowd on a Sunday morning at 9am,I was doubtful to get a table within 15-20 mins.So many people from all parts of Bangalore. We happen to meet Grunjun, who we casually started a conversation with. She's from Rajasthan and has also lived in bihar. For 15 years she's lived in Bangalore and often come to Vidyathri Bhavan to have the famous Dosas. She also said she wouldn't trade staying in Bangalore for any other city in India. That's what Bangalore does to you :) You just have to come down to Bangalore to experience it.Finally after sincere prayers to lord Ganesh, the god of food according to me :) We finally got our table :) Then the gorging on food began :P :D
Our personal favourite was karabath. A single dosa is pretty heavy stuff due to all the ghee in it.Finally at the end of it two happy people with tummys full and already planning for the next Sunday's breakfast place :D :)
