Finally after so many many years of wishing and watching NatGeo and Discovery gave rock climbing a try.Finally got to experience a little of the trouble the climbers go through and appreciate their strength not just the physical but also the mental strength.
Everything looks easier when you watch others do it,but when your up and climbing what is your mind telling you and what exactly is your next plan in mind to go just go one step higher.
Didn't wanted to spend any another Sunday evening just lazying around at home or going out to malls.Browsing through the net found out about Mars Adventurers and their are two artificial rock climbing walls,one at Kanteerva stadium and the other one at Play Arena.Checked out Play Arena website and found out they had other cool stuffs like dirt bikes and skating and roping courses.It's located in Sarjapur after the Sarjapur total mall.So three of us head out,Ditty,Edwin and me.The place is open till 8:30pm.The staff is friendly and quiet encouraging :)
First, Ditty and I tried out the wall.Putting on the gear makes you feel like a pro :P. Edwin just sat back and watched us do all that hard hard work.Your hooked to a rope and your ready to go.Obviously we were told to take the easy route up,but it had challenges of its own.The initial climb's ok,but then when you just begin to fell comfortable,you have the first hurdle.The inclined wall,where as a beginner,you tend to place ur entire body's weight on ur arms.When the key is,you push your way up rather than pulling your self up. Couldn't get past that part and my hands gave way,that when your roped down.
Tried it three times and every time reached till the same place,but I was still happy at the end of the day for having done it. :)
Later on,tired the dirt bike,it was a little tough to maneuver,probably because our hands ached after the climb.All in all,a great Sunday evening,watching from kids to their parents sharing the same interest in climbing the wall.
