Ride to Ramanagaram

Happiness flows into your life when you least expect it. :) It's been four months since I last rode outside Bangalore, last ride being to Nandi Hills with my friends Roshini and Pavan. The ride to Nandhi Hills was different from that of Ramanagaram when it came to riding conditions, really wide lanes, less traffic, the chillness of December and the special moment of the ride was definitely riding the twisties,up the hill as well as down,my first try on riding the twisties. Wonderful Memories! Aren't they just the best collections that one can treasure for a life time. :)

Enjoying the view from Nandi hills :)
My Friend Roshini, created a group on facebook for the girls of Bangalore who love to ride their bikes. She added me to it and I quickly added a friend of mine Suchitra with whom I wanted to go for a ride from a long time. And finally,a bike ride was taking shape. We first decided to ride to Kanva dam,but having been there,I wasn't sure what would we do after having reached the destination.Going through the maps the previous night,I only got to know about the change of plans to Ramanagaram while having breakfast :D Like they say,it's the journey that matters and not the destination.I was more than happy because I was heading to this place for the first time.
Roshini,Suchitra and me decided to take our bikes,Ditty and Nicole were our wonderful pillions. We met up at the Big Bazzar in Banshankari around 7am.First look at Rosh's Avenger,an amazing sight. :)  A big hug to Rosh and with a couple of introductions we head off. Took the nice road to reach Mysore road and what can I say,Heaven! The weather was the perfect Bangalore weather one could ask for, free of traffic and super smooth roads.I did around 75km/hr on my Acitva.

Entrance to Nice Road

We stooped at Bidadi to have the famous tatte idli for breakfast.Form there it was a matter of 15kms to our destination.

The first view of Ramanagaram.

The famous movie Sholay was shot in this place. You have to pay a ticket to enter, even though there is a road till a certain distance,we were made to park our bikes outside the gate.

From this point on the photo session began :D All of us were so chilled out, enjoying each other's company.

The entrance to the flight of 200 odd steps.Legend has it,that Lord Rama had passed by this area on his way to the southern tip of india and therefore the name Ramanagaram.

While the rest of the gang was huffing and puffing up those stairs,I was actually enjoying it,when we reached the top we were all drenched in our own sweat.

Finally on top! :)

There's a Rama temple on top of the hill.Relaxed for some time and then headed off to the view point. We spotted a couple on the top,but when we were just being ourselves laughing, playing music, the constant chattering, fooling around and ofcourse the photo shoots, they decided to leave and gave the place all to ourselves :D :D
Let the view do the talking :)

Spent most of the time here, catching up with each other's stories. The weather being perfect, the landscape looked magical. It was hard to leave this place, but around 11:15am we decided to leave and headed to a coffee day on the way. With tummies full we head off to Bangalore but only to be back with more adventures :)
